Kelvin Capital’s portfolio companies listed amongst finalists

Three of Kelvin’s portfolio companies have been shortlisted as finalists in this year’s Business Insider Made in Scotland awards. The ceremony, which celebrates innovation in Scotland is hosted by Business Insider in collaboration with the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland champions all aspects of transformational discoveries and developments made in Scotland.

The categories in which our investee companies have been listed are Innovator of the Year and Inventor of the Year.

Innovator of the Year

Novosound is an award winning Scottish sensors company utilising thin-film processes to eliminate conventional limitations in ultrasound sensors. Founded by Dr. Dave Hughes, Novosound has to date developed a number of products which can be used across a wide range of applications including; NDT, oil & gas, aerospace, medical and nuclear energy.

Chromacity‘s vision is to transform the fundamental research and industrial laser market, making high quality, compact, affordable lasers accessible to more scientists and industrial partners, enabling more discoveries.

Inventor of the Year

Snappy Shopper‘s application platform provides technology to setup home delivery services at a minimal cost, connecting consumers with businesses digitally. With over 1600 local convenience stores using the Snappy Shopper technology, local high street retailers can add significant value to their revenue and gives them the availability to compete with large supermarkets by providing home delivery within the hour.
